Our Staff
Angela Laman, MA, LSWAngela Laman, MA, LSW  is the Program Director of Adoption S.T.A.R. in Ohio. She is a Licensed Social Worker, Adoption Assessor and Certified Mediator. Angela served as Executive Director for Worlds Together adoption agency prior to joining Adoption S.T.A.R. For several years, Angela worked as an independent contractor for many agencies providing home studies and other adoption services.

In addition to her work in the adoption field, Angela has worked as a social worker for Hamilton County Job and Family Services for 15 years. She has held various positions within in the agency specifically in foster care and investigations. She earned Children’s Services Worker of the Year in 1996. She has been employed as a Training Coordinator for the Southwest Ohio Regional Training Center. There she conducted training needs assessments of children’s services professionals in the eight counties served. In addition she compiled data and published the quarterly training calendars for adoptive/foster parents and caseworkers. Angela also worked in domestic relations conducting mediation. Angela has held various positions within the local Mothers of Twins Club and Mothers of Preschoolers. She is passionate in helping to build families through adoption. After she and her husband experienced five years of infertility, they were blessed with twins. Her personal story was featured in Cincinnati Woman Magazine in February 2003.

Angela lives in Loveland, Ohio with her husband and their children, as well as their golden retriever, Abby, and their lizard, Iggy. Angela enjoys reading, running, traveling and quality time with friends and family!
