Marina is Adoption STAR’s MSW Intern for the 2022-23 academic year. Marina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Clinical Counseling from Canisius College, and is continuing her education at the University at Buffalo for her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Marina is in her final year of the MSW program and knew from year one that she wanted to experience working in child welfare at Adoption STAR.

Marina has experience working with newly resettled refugee families as an English teacher and case manager, and spent a year volunteering at People Inc. helping young adults with developmental disabilities build job skills. Marina’s opportunity at Adoption STAR is one that she is looking forward to the most and she cannot wait to learn from their amazing staff.  

Outside of work, Marina spends her time hiking around Western New York with her two dogs, rock climbing, and setting up her hammock in local parks.
