The Dark Matter of Love is a new documentary telling the story of three Russian children who were adopted into American families prior to the ban on adoptions this past January.
In April 2013 the film screened in conjunction with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption, National Council on Adoption, CASE and Cinema for Peace to an audience of policy and decision makers on Capitol Hill.
The film makes its Russian premiere at the Moscow International Film Festival in June 2013, accompanied by a petition of over 61,000 signatures. Key Russian policy makers will be in attendance at the screening, as well as American parents waiting to be united with their adopted children.

National Council for Adoption says the film “raises important awareness of the complexities of adopting children from institutions and provides a realistic look at the struggles many families face”.
The Center for Adoption Support and Education reports “The documentary shows the deep commitment and perseverance of the Diaz family to begin to slowly reap the joys of what it means to be a family.”
The film appears to demonstrate the great need for pre- and post-adoption education for prospective adoptive parents while showing us all a wonderful post adoption success story.
It just might be worth checking out if you can.
