Emily provides home study and post placement services to Adoption STAR families, conducts Family Readiness Assessments for the A-OK Program, and is an active facilitator of the ANCHOR class series. Emily received her Bachelor’s Degree from Elon University, and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work From Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her current role, Emily was a Family Advocate within the A-OK Program. Emily began her professional career working in fundraising and development for a non-profit organization before making the decision to pursue a career in social work. She most recently worked in foster care facilitating placements of children coming in to care and supporting families through the fostering and adoption process. Coming from a family that has adopted children from different areas and backgrounds sparked an interest in adoption and child welfare for Emily. She loves working with families who are adding to their family through adoption, specifically with older children looking for their “forever family.” Outside of work Emily enjoys traveling, taking yoga classes, and exploring the Buffalo, NY area.
