Nuala obtained her master’s degree in Counselor Education from the State University of New York at Brockport after completing her undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Nuala has worked locally as a school counselor, as well as for a children’s mental health agency.

Nuala has worked for Adoption STAR for over a decade, in various capacities. She began as a per diem worker, conducting home studies and post placement services and later transitioned into the role of Adoption Counselor for the International Adoption Department, facilitating the journeys of families throughout the international adoption process.  Additionally, Nuala has also served as a support to the domestic infant adoption team and recently added the responsibility of reviewing and editing home studies.

Nuala is honored to be part of the adoption journey, remaining in awe of the constant compassion, patience and gratitude she witnesses in adoptive parents while they fulfill their dream of building a family.
