Adoption In The News

Good Morning everyone! Adoption In The News is a feature we will run every morning, with links to newspaper articles and columns as well as website and blog posts about adoption. If you find an article or blog post on adoption that you find interesting feel free to email Alex with the link.

Gay adoption has been in the news as of late, and yesterday the state of Virginia voted to “continue a practice that some argue allows faith-based organizations in Virginia to discriminate in adoptions,” according to this Washington Post article.

This Virginia ruling came on the heels of the Arkansas Supreme Court reversing a 2008 ruling that barred unmarried couples who live together from adopting. The new ruling will allow unmarried couples, gay or straight, who live together to become eligible to adopt.
