Here’s a list of training options for foster/adoptive parents happening this fall/winter.
The New York State Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) and the Center for the Development of Human Services (CDHS) are actively advertising a variety of web-based training classes designed with foster/adoptive parents in mind!
To access the list of classes (and extensive accompanying information, including how to access the courses, technological requirements for participating in the courses, etc.), please click on the following link:
Heather Dominguez, Project Coordinator at CDHS, says, “Increasingly adult learners are using the Internet to enrich their personal lives, acquire new information, and learn new skills. The feedback from the foster/adoptive parents who have taken advantage of CDHS Foster/Adoptive Parent Training Project trainings has been consistently excellent—they enjoy participating in the trainings, talking with each other, and learning new techniques and skills.”
We hope you’ll give serious consideration to participating in these classes this fall/winter, regardless of whether you’re a current or prospective adoptive parent/foster parent.
