On Wednesday, May 15th, Adoption STAR is sponsoring a workshop entitled “Telling Your Child Their Birth Story and Other How To’s.” The workshop runs from 6pm to 8pm and is being held at Webster Bible Church, 675 Holt Road, Webster, NY 14580.
Adoption STAR is committed to offering quality, informative educational opportunities for adoptive families, and this event we’re running next month is a great example of this commitment.
This interactive class will offer attendees information and guidance on sharing your child’s adoption story with them. Special attention and advice will address how to present “difficult to share” birth family background information with your child, as well as how to best answer your growing child’s questions about adoption. Lastly, the workshop will touch on the unexpected comments from others that many adoptive families are on the receiving end of, bonding issues, as well as any “everyday parenting issues” attendees may want to bring up for group discussion.
