Telling Your Child Their Birth Story

Adoption STAR will be holding an adoption class on “Telling Your Child Their Birth Story” on Thursday, September 13, from from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The workshop will be held at the Adoption STAR Buffalo office (47 Plaza Dr. Williamsville, NY, 14221).

Each birth and each adoption are different and it’s important to be able to give your child(ren) as much information as possible. Some families with open adoptions may be able to tell their children about being in the hospital, or even the hospital room, while they were born, while other families may tell their child(ren) what they were doing when they received the call that that they were born, or they had been matched.

The “Telling Your Child Their Birth Story” workshop will feature four families who have adopted, and these families will be sharing the experiences they’ve had talking to their children about their birth story, and will be ready to answer questions you may have about the topic. The class is perfect both for families who have adopted and also waiting families.

For more information on the class and/or to RSVP, please email Adoption STAR or call (716)639-3900.

We hope to see you there!
