Adoption STAR CEO Michele Fried is a member of the Canisius College Women’s Business Center (WBC). According to the organization’s website, the Women’s Business Center is “the region’s most comprehensive resource for business and professional women,” and “provides real-world expertise to help women business owners gain professional growth.”
Adoption STAR is committed to increasing the community’s awareness of our agency. Having that said, we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to participate in the WBC’s first annual Women’s Business Center Festival, which was held on Tuesday, July 16th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in Larkin Square (on Seneca Street in Buffalo). Adoption STAR Development Associate Kristin Ackerman attended the event on behalf of our agency, along with Adoption STAR volunteer Linh. Based on what Kristin had to say about the event, it was an excellent opportunity for us! Several hundred attendees, lots of people curious to hear more about Adoption STAR and the good work we do, folks expressing an interest in becoming adoptive parents, and others “touched by adoption” that were eager to share their personal stories and adoption-related experiences.
A big “thank you” to the Canisius College Women’s Business Center for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful event.
