Volunteer Opportunity – Committee Needed for Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House

During this difficult economy where some not for profit organizations are closing their doors, Adoption STAR is growing! The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House is a special event to celebrate our new state of the art facility.

Adoption Star began in 2000 with donated space and then moved into a small office space in 2001.  That office grew into a 2,000 square feet office space in 2002! After renting for a number of years, dreams became reality of owning their own 3,000 square foot building in 2005. In October 2012, Adoption STAR sold its main office and purchased a larger property – more than double the size – and uses the additional space to better accommodate its growing staff, client counseling and educational needs and expansion of post-adoption support services.

Volunteers will be needed to assist with the following:

Prepare and mail invitations

Alert local media with press release and follow up

PR blasts using social media

Follow up calls to vendors and keynote speakers

Organize the ribbon cutting ceremony

Tour guides

Refreshment table

Soliciting donations of food and drinks

Greeting table

Raffles and give aways

Organize activities for children

Soliciting for sponsorships and/or in-kind gifts and services

Set up and/or clean up for the event
