Celebrate the first weekend of fall and support Adoption STAR and the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village at the same time.
Runners and walkers alike are encouraged to take advantage of what looks to be a gorgeous fall day on Saturday, September 26, 2015 (THIS SATURDAY) for the Run in the Country 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun Run. The event is taking place at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (BNHV), 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst, NY 14228. 9:00am is the when 5K run chip timing begins. 10:00am marks the start of the Kids’ Fun Run. The event is part of the Fabulous 5K Race Series and the course is USATF sanctioned and certified. All proceeds will benefit to wonderful Amherst, New York-based non-profit organizations – Adoption STAR and BNHV!
The entry fee for the event is $22.00 ($25.00 the day of the race). A $5.00 fee covers the Kids’ Fun Run. Runners over 80 years old can register for free. Checkers/Striders members get a $2.00 discount off the registration fee. Running apparel will be given to the first 200 prepaid registrants. Pre-race packets can be picked up at BNHV on Friday, September 25th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm or on race day between 7:45am and 8:45am.
There’s a post race celebration immediately following the race on the grounds of BNHV. Music, a 50/50 raffle, food, and beverages for kids and adults are available. Non-registrants can join the fun for just $5.00.
PLEASE NOTE: Online registration closes at midnight on Thursday, September 24th. You may register in person at the BNHV’s museum (download the application HERE) on Friday, September 25th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm or on Race Day (Saturday, September 26th) from 7:45am – 8:45am. We will be accepting check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
