It’s always good to hear when a state becomes more “adoption-friendly” and that’s just what the state of Michigan did last week. The state approved legislation that they hope will increase foster-care adoptions by speeding up the process.
The new legislation allows the Michigan Children’s Institute Superintendent, who formerly had to review every foster-care adoption case, to appoint someone to review foster-care cases. This will speed up the process by allowing the Superintendent to concentrate on cases that may need extra care.
