This was one of our many wishes for Naomi, our wonderful Administrative Assistant, who the Adoption STAR staff surprised this morning with a “Fiesta goodbye party.” Naomi will be leaving Adoption STAR this Friday to follow her dream to travel and live abroad. Naomi will be moving to Barcelona, Spain and hopes to teach there.
Naomi, who thought she was coming in for a Tuesday morning staff meeting, was greeted by the Adoption STAR staff wearing nametags with our Spanish names on them! She found the t
raining room decorated as a spectacular Fiesta. We enjoyed pin the sombrero in the “star” and munched on Spanish style foods such as magdelina muffins while listening to Salsa music.
We will miss Naomi very much but we are also very proud of her for following her dream. Naomi wrote in a letter to the agency, “I am sorry to leave such loyal friends and coworkers… I have thoroughly enjoyed every day working at Adoption STAR and thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me this opportunity and affording me to learn many life skills that I will take with me where I go, literally! It has been an overwhelmingly pleasurable, learning and working experience to be a part of this team. I wish nothing but the most success for the future of Adoption STAR.”
Naomi has generously offered to provide side-by-side training to the individual taking the Administrative Assistant position. In mid July, we welcomed Ashlee Shinn to this dynamic position. Stay tuned to learn more about Ashlee in the near future.
