Adoption STAR’s prospective adoptive parents come to understand the importance of adoption education, as our agency firmly believes that thorough reading, research, and a commitment to learning should be an integral part of any adoption journey.
With that in mind, our Ohio Program Director Angela Laman is strongly encouraging clients to attend an upcoming presentation on adoption law (Adoption 101, if you will) by adoption attorney Lauren McClain.
Ms. McClain, a lawyer at Sams, Fischer, Packard and Schuessler, L.L.C. (SFPS), will discuss a host of legal information related to private agency adoptions, including the standard legal procedure that occurs to finalize a domestic adoption. She will also discuss the standard “re-adoption” legal procedure that occurs following an international adoption. With nine years of experience working as an adoption attorney, Ms. McClain is well equipped to dispel common adoption law myths and will happily address any questions or concerns that attendees bring up for discussion.
The training will take place on April 17, 2014, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at SFPS’ office (8738 Union Centre Boulevard, West Chester, OH, 45069) in the large conference room.
