Adoption Education, Uncategorized

There are over 111,000 children in the United States, waiting to be adopted. We are in need of families who wish to explore this option. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting a child, please continue reading to learn more about educational opportunities. Several new dates for educational classes specific to considering the adoption of an older child or children. The classes give attendees a great deal of information that prepares them for older child adoption and provides the opportunity to assess personal interest, readiness, and commitment to adopt an older child. If you are considering the adoption of an older child, this is for you. Due to the preparation necessary for an older child adoption, we are providing a series of three training options. Each series has two mini-weekends. One day will be 8 hours, the other day will be 3 ½ hours. Each part (A and B) will be 23 classroom hours. You must sign up for one A (both days) and one B (both days). Preference is for you to sign up for parts A & B listed together. However, if you are unable to attend for example, part B in the first series, you may attend part B in another series. You must attend part A before part B. These educational sessions are held at the Adoption STAR main office, 131 John Muir Drive, Amherst, NY 14228. Breakfast and lunch provided.
